5 elements that motivate me to keep on blogging

Motivation

Hello friends, blogging is a long term commitment.  As long your blog is running in the internet world, you need to spend your time and effort to make it successful unless you are just blogging for fun.

Yes, you may have the passion towards blogging but just passion alone will not get you far. There are times when your head is totally empty and you are running out of ideas to publish your posts frequently. You feel discouraged and you want to give up. Either when your blog hasn’t reach the level where you would expected it to be or you are seeing low traffic after publish some solid post that you think might trigger a huge traffic to your blog. Are you easily discourage and lack of motivation to carry on?

This blog may not be seeing huge traffic, neither does this blog is successful. How do i actually find the motivation for me to carry on running a blog online? My motivation comes from 5 simple elements.

1) Belief / Mentality

I need to have the belief that i will be successful. Initial start up is the hardest for a blogger. Look at those successful blogger now, i am pretty sure their start up is not easy either. Running a new blog with zero visitors and zero traffic is something that you need to bear. If there is no belief, all of them will to have giving up and won’t be successful. Its the most important of all. Belief and mentality decides whether you are willing to work hard or just abandon it half way through.

2) Bloggers

I tend to look at the A-List bloggers and learn from them. Anytime when i am surfing the web or reading their blogs, they motivates me to be like them. They may not be teaching me anything. Just by looking how successful their blogs are is already a big motivation factor for me.

3) Visitors

By visiting my blog or leaving comments in my posts is a huge compliment to me and i feel extra motivated to pump out posts day in day out. Lets face it, any blog without visitors will be consider as failure. Heavy interaction with visitors of my blog will give me plenty of satisfaction and will motivate me further to work harder.

4) Family / Friends

Words of encouragement from my closest kin will give me the motivation to commit in blogging. Blogging can take up a lot of free time and if you have a family, they need to be understanding when they don’t have your accompany.

5) Money

Though money is a factor too but i am putting it to the last priority. Blogging can certainly bring in some revenue but i do not want to lose my focus at this point of time. It is a big motivation factor but it can be a big discouraging factor too.  We need to have the correct mindset that after your blog reach a certain level, then you can focus all your energy in monetizing it.

How do you find your motivation  to keep on blogging? Is there anything that we can learn from you? Please kindly share with us in the comments box.

The elements belief, family and friends and money relates to non bloggers as well. When we believe in ourselves nothing can go wrong, when we believe in ourselves qualities like self esteem, confidence, hard work paves its way into our lives. Brilliant post, Lye.
