Mind Mapping

Mind maps are diagrams drawn around a specific keyword to explore new ideas, thoughts and reflections. Mind map works like a spring of ideas to accomplish your tasks more efficiently. By connecting all your jobs, words and ideas to the core keyword through a pictorial representation, you will be able to visualize and analyze ideas.

Mind maps will also help you organize information to draw endless list of ideas. The connecting parameters of mind mapping diagrams will be classified into groups, branches and sections which flow in non-linear fashion. Mind maps are best fit for brainstorming sessions. You will be able to extend the philosophy from the core to the tail end.

Endless blog post ideas

A successful blogger has to fulfill the ever growing demands of a steady stream of visitors. New and timely blogs are essential to satisfy existing visitors and attract new visitors. Mind maps are very useful in carrying the task of generation of new ideas which in turn result in creation of new blogs.

You will be able to draw many illustrations from your core theme spreading through multiple branches and sub sections. There is no dearth of ideas to create new blogs by taking little effort in creation of mind maps and by using appropriate words, tasks, colors and tree structures.

We come up with constant supply of blog post ideas (that are interesting) for our discount coupon blog that features weight watchers and ediets discount deals through mind mapping technique. It rocks, seriously.

How to go with mind mapping?

Typically you can place your keyword in an elliptical shape and using 3 or more colors for the image. This forms part of the central part of your mind map. A number of branches can be connected to the core theme. Each branch will take a different color for easy identification and classification.

Tasks can be specified for each branch. For example, for one branch you can assign the niche blog topic that you are focusing for your blogging sphere. Another branch can take the style of blog that you want to present. You can use one branch to update with user’s choice or taste or response.

In this way you will have a general road map as well as a consistent visualization that will be updated periodically which lets you explore new ideas in an endless fashion.

Getting the most from mind mapping

In order to get best results from mind mapping diagrams, you should take special care in the preparation of the mind map. A quality mind mapping diagram will not only give quality ideas but will yield more by giving more number of thoughts and ideas.

Care should be taken in usage of symbols, usage of spacing between topics and usage of different sizes and shapes. Branch colors and borders can be used to differentiate topics easily. You can also user upper case letters, lower case letters and a wide variety of font sizes, types and colors.

Mind mapping software

There are mind mapping software applications which make your job easy. For example, you can use Mind Manager, Visual Mind, etc. The software will let you export data to another application. The software gives you complete flexibility in rearranging the branches, words and colors. You can save time and effort by using the software.

It is also possible to maintain large amount of database and you can effectively utilize other tools like spreadsheets, images, documents and various online resources.

Effectiveness of mind mapping

As pictures are 100 times better than words, pictorial representation of ideas will let you frame a virtual map in your brain. You brain can capture the facts at a fast pace and complex permutations and combinations are drawn in your mind yielding a large number of unique blogging ideas.

As per experts’ analysis, mind map lets you utilize both left and right human skills. Mind map also balances your mind and lets you tap more than 90% of your mental potential as per some analysts in the field.

Spend less gain more

With mind mapping you will spend less time but you will gain more impact. For example, you can take a list of 4 of your last blog postings on a piece of paper. Draw a circle for each of the blog posts. When you go through each of the blog posting, you can check again where you can extend or enhance the blog.

Simply draw a square around the circle with the new idea. If you are able to get 3 ideas for each of these 4 blog postings, you got a total of 12 new blog ideas within a span of few minutes. Here lies the power of mind mapping.

Have you tested the impact of mind mapping in generation of new blogging ideas?

No doubt, mind mapping is a very useful technique to land new topic ideas for blogging but one needs to be careful not to repeat majority portion of the content already published for the keyword in the root tree from which new content ideas are drawn. They should be complimentary to each other and different from each other to work effectively.

OK now that I have unwrapped my tongue from my ear after trying to say the title of this post out loud (can anyone say Dr. Suess? :) ) I enjoyed reading it…

I love mindmapping, although I have to admit that it just gives me horrible memories of university LOL.
Admittedly there is nothing better (for me anyway) than the visual aid that a mindmap can bring – and the ideas it springs forth!?! yeah exactly.

on a side note – if any Dyslexic person reads this post title they are going to be awfully confused :P

PS: How fitting is my commentluv post LOL

Great idea. One of the hardest parts of blogging is coming up with topics to write about on a regular basis. By taking some time to employ a strategy like this one, it’s likely that you will brainstorm some new ideas that you may not have though of otherwise.
