In whatever trade of business you are in, a good reputation is something that you should keep in mind in order to make sure that your business grows. Email marketing is one of the strategies you can use to keep in touch or share information with your readers or customers and the way you manage this strategy will help you in growing your blog/business if you do it the right way.

Let us share with you some cool nice tips you can use to build a good reputation for your blog or business if you are using email marketing.

  1. Find A Reliable Email Auto-Responder

A reliable email auto-responder can always make sure that they are online most of the time to let you blast out your email any time you like. Moreover, if the company’s reputation is good, you can be sure that your emails will get delivered to your subscribers’ Inbox most of the time.

  1. Always Remember To Start Fresh

There are bloggers who  like to start off email marketing with buying a pre-gathered email list and import into the database. This is pretty much like ruining your reputation for a start since the recipients never agree to subscribe to you in the first place which look pretty much like you are spamming them.

  1. Adopt Double Opt-In

Using double opt-in while gathering your email list works pretty much like getting a confirmation from your subscribers that they truly agree to receive emails from you. Though this may slower down your rate of gathering but it will reduce the amount of spam complaints the next round you blast out your emails.

  1. Add Your Email Address To Address Book

I have seen the most successful online website which I have subscribed to, has had their emails landed up in my Spam folder. This could be due to many different reasons, but the safest way to ensure that your emails sent to your subscribers always get delivered to their inbox is to ask them to add your sender email address to their address book.

  1. Check Your Email Content Before Sending Out

Most companies usually practice spell-check on their content but not “spam-check”. Spend a good few minutes to look out for sensitive keywords in your subject and content e.g. free, holiday, contest etc. Avoid using them unless you really have to do so.

In addition, avoid email content that has less than 200 words. Try to write more so that it looks less spammy too.

  1. Give Them A Chance To Opt Out

There is always a saying that if you truly love someone, you should set them free. This applies to email marketing too. If you like your subscribers to stay with you long; let them choose to opt out if they no longer like to subscribe to you. But that doesn’t stop you from gathering them back to opt-in again.

  1. Keep Your Content Fresh and Surprising

What’s more dull than receiving emails from someone everyday which says “good morning”, “how are you” etc. Keep your content fresh and unique everyday so that your subscribers can look forward to receiving emails from you again. Give them surprises every once a while so that they will feel excited and looking forward too.

Email marketing with a healthy email list will help you greatly in your marketing for your online and offline businesses. Let’s practise these tips today.

    Hi Keith,

    Super tips here.

The double opt-in works well. Make sure the subscribers want to be subscribers. You want a targeted, responsive list….not a group of uninterested tire kickers.

Add value with each mailing. Even the sell emails should contain immense value, stuff that motivates people to want to learn more. This makes your calls to action that much more powerful.

    Thanks for sharing!

I hate email lists that make it a complete nightmare to unsubscribe, I can’t understand why people try to be sneaky and hide the unsubscribe link way down at the bottom in a font color that blends in. They may still have that person on your list but they will be really annoyed and will never buy from them!

    Thanks – Jay

no point to have a big huge list of subscribers whom never buy anything from you. it eats up your monthly recurring fee to maintain your service.

I will agree to that you should always check the contents of the email before sending it to the respondents! It is really annoying if you will get emails that doesn’t relate to the topics you have!

Useful information. Autoresponder makes your life easy. Updated, timely, useful and quality content will definitely attract the audience. Subscribers should have the facility to opt-in and opt-out of subscription.

Really useful advices! I think the most important is to check to content of the mail before sending it to the recipients. If we want to earn trust from the costumers, we have to check to content we send to them.

Checking content before sending out is very important to avoid double sending of emails within a day. I personally experienced same thing and find very irritating because the blogger sent out an email 4 times I guess. Telling that he sent an incorrect content. It could be an excuse to communicate with their potential clients or customers so not really a good deal for me.

I know how you feel and you can spend hours just getting to find that out. I did eventually find a good free one which is actually a free auto-responder service called Listwire. Completely free service with no silly limits. You can have up to 10 lists with as many emails sent as you want and even set them up on a schedule and track them.

Amazing tips! I agree with the writer specially in tips #7. Some bloggers settle in articles that are copied or should I say paraphrase from other blog sites and the result would be a boring website. :)

Usually i dont prefer email marketing because from some feedback i realized that clients feel it spamming and it irritates them a lot, it can be done by making email marketing interesting.

I’ll add to your tip to let people unsubscribe … Let them unsubscribe automatically. I hate it when people add me to their list (without my permission) and then make me email them to unsubscribe. I don’t want to have to email you and put a certain word in the subject line … I just want to not get your stuff anymore!
