As arranged with Michael of Lickshunmewah, both of us will update our monthly traffic stats every month. Michael is currently taking a break from his blog but i hope he will be back soon. First of all lets recap what are the targets i have set in for October.
Monthly Visits: 1.5k
Absolutely Unique Visitors: 500
Alexa Ranking: 150,000
Subscribers: 30
Sad to say, i have not been able to reach most of my targets set for this month except for Alexa ranking. Here is my October traffic stats.
Monthly Visits: 1,020 down from 1048 (Sep)
Pageviews: 2,750 down from 3,059 (Sep)
Bounce Rate: 46.76% down from 46.85% (Sep)
Absolutely Unique Visitors: 307 down from 312 (Sep)
Alexa Ranking: 124,337 up from 200,692 (Sep)
Subscribers: 24 up from 12 (Sep)
Why The Target Can’t Be Reached
As you can see from the stats above, the traffic is about the same as September. What does that means? This means i am able to retain most of my visitors who visited Findmyblogway. New visitors take up almost 28% of my overall visitors. I have lost some readers but at the same time i have gained new visitors.
If a blog can’t move forward, the blame goes to the blogger. I am sure i have not done enough. There is a lot of improvement need to be done. I have not done any guest post lately. I haven’t been active enough in networking. The current work that i put in has optimize the traffic to my blog. To increase a bigger traffic, i need to attract wider source of visitors.
Even though i am not able to reach the target but i am not disappointed. Not at all. In fact i am grateful to 300 + visitors who visited Findmyblogway. Up until today, to have people reading what i have published is a great joy to me.
No Targets for November
I decided not to set any more targets for my monthly traffic report. The reason is i am very comfortable with my blogging frequency and the way this blog is heading right now. I don’t foresee any changes for the next few months. If i promise to do some guest post or any additional activity, it will take up some of my precious family time. I am actually guilty of not spending time with my son in the evening since i started Findmyblogway.
Blogging is considered a passion to me right now. I don’t have the intentions to become a full time blogger yet. The goals of providing value and connect to the rest of the world have not change at all. I don’t intend to read too much of the traffic and let this blog grow naturally. That to say, i will still publish a post every 2-3 days and visit the blog that i have always visited which are my current routine blogging activities.

I actually just published my monthly numbers yesterday on my blog. They weren’t encouraging that is for sure. October was my first full month of blogging. I can only improve from this point. I did set some goals for November that I hope I can reach. Thanks for sharing!

I think it’s a great that you are choosing not to set goals in November. Not that goals are are not important…great to have something to work towards. However, if your sole focus is where you are going instead of where you are at now, then it takes away from doing the best you can do in the moment.
It also takes away from what are your true priorities, like spending time with your son.
You are doing great Lye! Do what you can in the time you can, enjoy the process and hang in there!! Rome wasn’t built over night and neither will be your blog. You have the passion and the skill, just give yourself the persistence and patience.

Hi Lye,
As long as you keep things going, your blog will be successful. Building up traffic can be tough. For me, I have 3 main sources of traffic. Commenting brings in a good amount. Then I get some decent traffic from entrecard, which is a traffic exchange site, but the only one I really like. Finally, twitter actually brings in a decent amount of traffic for me.
I keep my goals really simple. I just try to do 1 thing each day to either bring in traffic or improve my site. I also don’t post more than 2-3 times a week, but that doesn’t seem to hurt my traffic.

I am very surprised you haven’t sitemap.xml file!
This sitemap is optional, but for me, it is a must have plugin. Sitemap.xml can help to get better indexing in big G.
I would say, optimize your site and build links naturally
You site is pretty new, so lots more to go, and to achieve.
Your stat is a positive sign, so keep it up, and you will get more visitors.
