Increase Conversion

To convert visitors into clients, paying attention to certain aspects of your website is critical. Convince people by offering samples of your product/services/work. Including client testimonials in your site can be a great idea as well.

The main purpose of a website is to increase profit rates of the company. Sometimes, a site receives huge traffic. Unfortunately, this traffic does not convert into paying clients, thus affecting business goals of the company. The best way to deal with this situation is to evaluate the site and implement certain changes.

  • Use powerful call-to-action statements

Many people ignore this particular aspect of website design. The result is that visitors do not feel compelled to act. This in turn, interferes with the targeted profit rate of the company.

Include powerful call-to-action statements in the website. Opt for colorful call-to-action buttons, increase their sizes – do whatever it takes to grab attention of the visitors.

Evaluating the site from point of view of visitors can be a good idea. Do they receive a clear call-to-action statement, as soon as they land at the site? Does this statement encourage visitors to opt for a clear action (for example buying a product, filling up a feedback form, or signing up for newsletters)? Honest answers to these questions will help you to redesign your site correctly.

  • Offer samples

If you want to convert visitors into paying clients, you have to convince them that your company can solve their problems. Lure visitors by offering them free products or services. This will encourage them to try out your products/services. If you are a web design professional, you can convince them by placing your work samples within the website.

  • Incorporate attractive content

To convince visitors that you are serious about building relationships with them, develop valuable content. Offer them good information. Ensuring that the articles do not contain spelling or grammatical errors is critical as well. Break down the content into small paragraphs, so that it is easier to read and interpret.

  • Opt for interesting images

To create a positive impression, use interesting images in your site. However, placing them blindly will not be effective. Rather, ensure that these images complement the purpose of your site.

  • Use a neat layout

A neat web layout is pleasing to the eyes and creates a professional image of the company. You may argue that placing more ads in the site can bring in greater revenue. However, this is a wrong concept. Incorporating more advertisements in the site will irritate the visitors and harm your reputation in the long run.

For best results, avoid over-stuffing your site with excessive content, design, or ads. Opt for a clean layout and allow visitors to explore the site smoothly.

  • Pay attention to the contact page

If you are looking for clients, paying attention to contact page is important. Make it easier for your prospective clients to find and contact you. Offer your contact information in details, so that clients can choose their preferred mode of getting in touch with you.

  • Incorporate testimonials

Encourage visitors to trust you by placing client testimonials in your site. You can also include contact information about your past clients, so that people can crosscheck the given information.

  • Social media marketing is critical

Social networking sites allow companies to connect with current and potential clients on a personal level. Show visitors your real persona by connecting them at social networking sites. Encourage them to join you at these sites by placing feeds and links in your website.

The sample technique really works. I think its the best way to show to our new clients our capabilities. Our clients wants to know that they’ve made the right decision by approaching us and I feel that offering them samples can be the best assurance we can give them before the work starts.

Bob, you’re quite right. A sample is an assurance that the clients have indeed made the right choice, and implies the confidence, efficiency and professionalism of the designer.

These are excellent suggestions of ways to increase conversions. Powerful call-to-action statements are really important. If you want a site visitor to do something you really need to make it clear what you want them to do and how they can do it. A call to action doesn’t need to be on the same page 10 times but it should be on multiple different pages throughout the site. The visitor should not have to look hard to click a call to action.

Really informative article! The most articles are about the SEO processes and how to get a higher traffic, but the traffic itselfs isn’t anything. And for a good conversion rate, the site has to give trust to the visitors. And this depends on the content of course, and the online and offline marketing strategies. I think the best way is an optimal combination of the online and offline marketing methods, and then the conversion will rise:)

Maitreyee, a great article, thank you!

I think the call-to-action is something that isn’t valued enough.

Due to the nature of blogging, we all see what the other blogger is doing and before long we all do something that’s pretty similar.

I think this is one those things, everyone raves, quality content quality content .. and I don’t disagree, there is more that you need to do and calling your visitors to action is a big one, especially from a conversion stand point.

From a consumer’s point of view, I will say reviews or testimonials are some of the things that I will first look at. I also would prefer to buy if there are any specials going on like freebies, sales or I am getting discounts for it. Of course, I would never buy from a website with terrible design and content.

A site that is not converting is useless. In other words you can gain profits from it. If you want to build a website that converts you should then, give your target customers what they need. Focus on creating useful contents!

It’s important to set up your website to put visitors on a predetermined path to conversion no matter what page they initially landed on. Include calls to action on every page and set up the site so that it’s easy to navigate. It’s all about making it simple for the visitor.

Nice list of conversion tactics. Thank you for the reminder about better images. That is something usually left out of many posts about conversion optimization. what I lack in Photoshop skills, I make up for in taking the time to take the best photos I can. I took at photo course at linda.com, got myself a decent Sony DSLR, and planned out the shots instead of just going willy nilly.

    Great advice, thank you
