There are several blog bookmarking sites in the blogosphere but Blokube easily stands out as one of my favorites. Why? Simply because of its owner Devesh. Devesh is a young(17 year-old) but extremely talented blogger from India. He is also the founder of technshare, a multi author blog which aims at providing you the best and unique blogging tips.
What is Blokube?
Blokube is a social voting sites which caters for bloggers in the blogging, business, marketing, SEO, SEM, and web development categories. Whenever you have a new post, you can submit your latest post to blokube. Members inside the site can then vote for each other’s articles to encourage interaction and traffic.
What does this means for you?
1. Traffic
If your content is good, you are able to gather a high number of votes and propel to the first page of the site. This will give you extra exposure and extra clicks for your site.
2. Networking
The blokube community is gradually growing and if you are looking for bloggers in your niche, look no further, this is the place to be.
3. Links
As Blokube is a dofollow site, this means every post you submitted is a relevant link back to your site/blog. How cool is that!
I was actually invited by Devesh to write a review on Blokube. I can go on and on about the features of Blokube but my friend Adam from Endeavor-Online has just written and published a very good review on this. I thought it was a complete and excellent article. Frankly speaking i don’t think i can do any better than him. Be sure to hop on there and have a read on his Blokube review post before you continue this post.
Instead of writing a full review on its features, i intend to talk what you should do to maximize the benefits of Blokube after you have joined.
So you have joined, What Now?
There are a lot of bloggers submitting their latest post to Blokube everyday. Your submitted post may have gone to page 2 or 3 within hours. Do not have the mentality of thinking once you have submitted your post, you can sit down, relax and see plenty of visitors in your site/blog. Blokube doesn’t work that way. You need to prepare to put in extra effort if you are to enjoy the benefits of a social networking/voting site.
There are three factors than will determine how many votes you will attract. What are they?
1. Involvement in networking/interacting
Yes, you need to get involved in Blokube. My blogging time is getting lesser due to my family commitments, i am guilty of not getting more involvement myself. Blokube is a social voting site. How many votes you have decide whether your post gets to the front page and read by many. One of the ways to attract votes is get to know other members inside Blokube.
You can:
- Add them as friends
- Visit their blog
- Vote for their post
- Comment on their post
Networking and interaction are essential. That’s what Blokube is for. I don’t expect you to add every member as friends but you need to be be seen somewhere. Imagine your name pops up everywhere in the site, people tends to remember you. This is a good way of exposing your name and brand to other bloggers too. Remember you are not only in a social voting site, you are in a real community.
2. Create a well crafted headline
In every post you submitted, what is it that attract people to read your content and vote for your post? It’s your headline. Your headline must be intriguing enough to attract people’s interest. Show some creativity. Sometimes people just scan through, you don’t have plenty of time to stay on the same page.
Your headline must:
- Include keywords
- Show its benefits
- Offer useful information
- Provide some sense of urgency
A well crafted headline helps in catching people’s attention as in your post or tweets. Make sure you give some consideration to that when you submit your next post.
3. Write exceptional content
Your networking is excellent and you have a catchy headline, do you have great content? Ultimately that’s what makes other bloggers decide to give their vote.
- Is your content helpful?
- Is it exceptional?
- Is it unique?
- Is it timeless?
If the above is yes, congratulations, you have a vote.
Combine these three factors together and you will be able to help you gather more votes and climb to the front page. It means more exposure, more connection and most important of all additional traffic for your site/blog.

I cannot speak highly enough of not only the potential that Blokube has, but also of the incredibly motivated SOB who owns it.
Between you and me, I think Devesh is maybe a machine
As one of the moderators of Blokube I am very pleased with your review and how you emphasised the importance of interaction and good content.

I also think the updates are insane.

It was a good thing posting about Blokube. While I can see the benefits for bloggers, I can also see benefits for us non-bloggers: reading some quality posts and ultimately finding out about new blogs. I for one am always on the lookout for new blogs to read, as I find it a great way to learn about IM and other stuff I’m interested in.

I agree with you. It’s a good resource to look out for new blogs. There are lots of different blogs talking about different niches. AT the moment, it is more about IM. Probably Dev will expand the categories in future.
Thanks for the comments.

I joined this community a few months ago, but haven’t become very active in it yet. I really like the look and feel of the site. While similar sites are making it more difficult to share your posts to encourage you to buy their syndication services, Blokube gets easier to use every time I visit the site (for free). I’m looking forward to becoming more involved there this year.

Thanks for a great post Lye.
I’d like to think that #2 and #3 are what most bloggers are already striving for (you never know!).
Emphasizing the need to network is a powerful point especially in regards to Blokube and similar communities.
It’s not as simple as submit and hope… There’s interaction, sharing and mutual support going on, and you never know who you might meet along the way!

Hi Jym,
I guess you hit the nail here. #2 and #3 are known to be important. Probably not every blogger can have that extra creativity on the headline.
That’s down to #1 really if we want to gain the first page in Blokube.
I really appreciate you dropping by to share your views. Thanks for the comments.

I just join Blokube an hour ago. It is certainly a great place to network with other bloggers. Not only will the blog posts get more exposure, we have the chance to meet other bloggers too, to learn from each other and build up a relationship.
However, the main point is to have great quality content in the first place to get votes from others.
Like your vote floating bar on the left hand side. Is this Digg Digg bar? How do you add in the vote from BizSugars and Blokube?
Cheers,
MingJong

Hi Ming Jong,
Glad to see you joining Blokube, sure it’s a fun place to be.
The left floating bar that you see is the “Sharebar” plugin. In order to add Bizsugar and Blokube, you have to get the code of the vote button and paste it into the “sharebar” settings.
If you have any problems, just drop me an email.
Lye
Sweet Lye,
I’m using Digg Digg at the moment. I’ll play around with Sharebar and add the code to play around with it
Thanks mate!
