I started FindMyblogWay.com after i develop a passion in blogging when i set up my first blog last year in October 2009. Blogging about blogging maybe a saturated niche but i still decided to set up a blog about the blogging niche. I seldom talk about my targets and goals for this blog. After reading How i gained 3,323 subscribers in 3 months by a fellow Singaporean Celestine Chua in Dailyblogtips today, i am inspired to share with you my targets and goals for this blog.
Goals of FindMyblogWay.com
- To provide as many useful blogging tips and resources available
- To update the content frequently
- To connect with many bloggers
- To create some revenue out of this blog
- To enjoy blogging as much as i can
Who wouldn’t want to live a comfortable internet lifestyle?
It’s as simple as that. I can quote some big goals but that is not in my radar now . It’s the dream of every blogger to live a carefree comfortable internet lifestyle. I wouldn’t say this is not my aim but it takes a lot of time and hard work to reach that. How many of us can actually make it to that? I have a full time job now. The high living standard and family commitments here in Singapore wouldn’t allow me to just quit my job and focus all my energy to work towards a professional blogger.
Yes that maybe some procrastination in my part. Probably it’s the upbringing that influence my decision on this. However if any of you are able to do that without any hesitation, i really applaud your determination in going ahead with your goals and dreams and i wish you success.
How this blog is doing?
FindMyblogWay.com has been up and running for two months now. So far 96 visitors had visited this blog and I had few subscribers who are interested in getting the latest updated post of this blog. Sure the stats is not impressive but i am not dishearten in any way. This blog has been gradually gaining readership. Though there is no sign of a substantial increment in the pageviews and visitors but i am quite happy with how things are going. I can say i see a bit of increment everyday and that’s a positive sign. Is there any targets that i set when i started this blog? Sad to say, i never actually set any targets such as how many subscribers i want, how much revenue i earn etc. My initial target is just to enjoy as much as i can and to provide as much value as i can. I am working towards that and i am happy with how things are going at the moment.
Things maybe change from now as i felt i need to do more if i want this blog to grow. I need to set targets for this blog from now on probably until the end of 2010. So what are my targets until end of 2010?
1) Earn 50-100 subscribers by:
- Continue to publish great content
- Start to submit guest posts
- Be more active in social media
- More networking with other bloggers
There are others like writing an ebook etc but this are the main focus for me at the moment.
2) Create some revenue by:
- Adsense
- Affiliate marketing
- Products review
There are many different ways to make money online. However i will have a try on this 3 methods initially. I ‘ll be glad even if i am earning $50 as to make the first dollar is always the hardest hurdle to cross over. Lets see how things proceed.
3) Commit long term in this blog by:
- Keep on publishing and updating content
- Keep on networking
Blog come and goes easily but i want this blog to be here as long as possible. Keep focusing on the goals that this blog have will tend to make things easier.
These are the three targets that i want to achieve till end of 2010. I will let you know whether i succeed or fail.
What if all targets fail?
- Enjoy the process
No problem, if everything fail, i will still be enjoying the process of writing a blog.
- Remain positive
Having a positive attitude is very important as a negative state of mind will cause you to give up easily.
- Keep on trying
Find out what’s the thing that don’t work. Find ways to improve or use other methods that works.
Conclusion
I am not a dreamer. I tend to be very positive towards life and cherish everything that i have. This is also my blogging philosophy. I am actually grateful to some of my blog mates like Onibalusi, Michael, Knut, Samuel and Tinh. You guys have been very supportive ever since FindMyblogWay is born. I am glad to meet you guys. Just want to say thank you to you all.

This is really great Michael and I know you will achieve your goals but I will advice you to rethink your goals, they are way too small,
I have goals for youngprepro and some of it are (I haven’t revealed my goals anywhere before online):
- To be getting a minimum of 1,000 daily visitors to my blog daily by the end of the year – I am presently close to 300 daily.
- To have a mailing list of 20,000 + subscribers before the end of this year – I am almost at 400.
- To be the top young entrepreneur – I am presently still far from this.
- To be making 5 figures monthly minimum by the end of the year – still working on this.
I presently don’t have goals for my RSS subscribers number because I don’t see much value in it – I have hundreds of them.
I will advice that you make your goals bigger, it is presently too small and you can achieve more if you dedicate your self to it – I believe in you!

Hi Oni,
First of all, thanks for revealing your goals here since you say you have not revealed them before. I am sure you will achieved your goals one day as i have confidence in your ability to reach your goals.
Yes i agree that my goals maybe small but i like to take baby steps at a time. If i can add value to people with my content, i will actually be very happy about it. Regardless of what my goals are, i am equally committed and dedicated to make this blog a success.Probably i tend to indulging in enjoying the process rather than the results.
Thanks for your support Oni. Its always great to have you around.
Hi Lye
Althought I agree with Oni that we should aim high I also agree with taking baby steps to achieve our goals.
I like the way you have laid out you ‘business model’ and how you plan to get there – very smart. I also agree with how you have set out ways to overcome setbacks and that you realise successful blogging takes time. Let’s face there are literally thousands of blogs out there.
I think your stats are more than acceptable thus far and I have no doubt you will have an amazing 2011.
Thanks for this very inspiring post.
Michael
P.s I will be releasing my monthly report in a few days.

Hi Michael,
Regarding the goals, its just the way that i like to do things. I don’t like to rush and like to do everything according to my path.
Yes successful blogging takes a lot of time. We need to work extremely hard to get there. But i think i have a positive attitude and that should carry me along as long this blog is alive.
Thanks always for your support bro. Its been really great to know you and i love to see your report in the next few days.

Hi Samuel,
Thanks for the support since day 1. I hope to see you achieve your goals too. Whether the goals can be achieved or not, life has to go on. Lets work together towards our goal and hope everything goes well.
Some great goals here. Each time I try to set goals I get distracted and don’t really have anywhere to store my goals. I tend to just put them on stickie notes and then end up losing them!

Hi Karl,
Great to see a new face here. I think if your goals are in your mind, then you should be able to focus on what you like to achieve.
Thanks for commenting and hope to see you around.
It’s nice to see that you are making your goals public, so that you get more determination to achieve them. It is good to see that enjoying the thing is actually a very important goal….and yes, even if we fail to achieve our goals, we must enjoy blogging. That will keep us going.

Thanks for the comments. I am just trying to make my blogging journey as enjoyable as i can. These are small goals but i still need to work hard for it. Hopefully you are achieving your goals.
Even I have broken down my goals into small ones so that I can achieve the small goals easily. And once a small goal is achieved, it gives me some motivation to aim higher.
