Recommendation – Blogging From Zero to Hero Tutorials

I want to share with you today a tutorial that i purchased over the weekend. I came across Skellie yesterday while i was browsing through at my Twitter account.

Skellie is a blogger, writer, entrepreneur and freelancer who blogs at Skelliewag.org.  This is her personal blog which talk about blogging, entrepreneurship, web content, social media business, creativity etc.  She is also the tuts + manager under the Envato network.

Out of curiosity, i decided to pay a visit to her blog. He blog is different to other blog for a number of ways.

- Most of the posts are very long.

- She only updates as and when she has something to say.

- She don’t advertise and she don’t have affiliate programs.

- She don’t have any contact details.

She has not been posting since March but recently she publish a post on 1st September. Title is Three New Blogging Tutorials For You. She was actually asked to write a book about blogging but her book editor ended up leaving the publishing house. The project is never completed. She completed 130 pages approximately half of the size of the book on creating a popular blog.

Skellie is extremely confident of the high quality in her work and decide to split her work into three parts. Each part will contain 40 type pages  of content. She named the three series “Blogging From Zero to Hero”. These three series of tutorial contain everything she knows about blogging so that beginners and advanced bloggers can learn something from the strategies inside. These three series tutorials are:

1. Blogging From Zero to Hero – Getting Started

It details the perfect planning and setup process for your blog, from choosing a niche, to defining your target audience, to selecting the content types that will work best on your blog. If you already have a blog, this chapter can help you refocus your blog to become more successful.

2. Blogging From Zero to Hero - Blog Design & Usability

This tutorial goes into detail on how to make your blog design as simple and effective as possible, making it much easier for your blog visitors to do exactly what you want them to do – from sharing your posts on social media, to leaving comments. You’ll also learn how to unclutter your blog, helping it to look clean and professional.

3. Blogging From Zero to Hero – Awesome Content

This tutorial is full of all her best advice on creating great content, from viral post ideas, to writing great titles, to making all your content unique.

All three tutorials are sold at tuts + marketplace at a price of $7.00 each. Tuts + marketplace is a site where you can buy screencasts, tutorials and courses.  However if you use deposit to pay for it, you’ll be getting the tutorial at $5.00 each rather than $7.00. You can use the balance to purchase other tutorials or spend it on themeforest which is also part of Envato network. There are several sites under Envato and i’ll leave it for you to explore them.

I didn’t purchase all three yet. I purchase the third tutorial Blogging From Zero to Hero – Awesome content. Why i decided to purchase is because the title itself already attracted me. The price is not that high either. It will probably take you one or few meals to come out with the budget. We all know content is the most important element for us to attract a huge traffic. After reading through, i think the money is definitely well spent.

The tutorial is not an ebook. It’s in html file and you need to open it with a browser. The tutorial contains over 10,000 words. What i suggest is to find a quiet place and slowly read through the whole tutorial. It teaches everything regarding writing awesome content. The tutorial can be summarize to the points below:

• Different type of content you can create

I have talked about “Top 10 Popular Type of Posts That Your Readers Like to Read” here. The tutorial go one further in telling you different type of content you can blog about including the advantages and disadvantages of it. The author also including some site showing as examples.

• Importance of create signature content

It explains why and how you should create signature content in your blog in order for your blog to be unique and stand out among the others.

• How to create exceptional posts

This breaks into several parts in explaining the use of headlines. The author even include numerous example on different type of headlines. It also talks about how to start an introduction of a blog post and the use of images. Lastly how you need to format the post by the length, voice, links and interaction.

• Creating viral content and inspiration

The tutorial also mentions on ways to create viral content and where and how to look for inspiration ideas  on writing and planning of your blog.

What i listed here is just part of it. There are so many more which break down into bulleted points. The tutorial is packed with lots of information and knowledge. For $5.00 or $7.00 per copy, i think it is a bargain. The reason why i am sharing here is not to earn any money as the links above are not affiliated links. I am pretty sure that this tutorial will give you more ideas on your post and writing. Based on the quality of this tutorial alone, i will be purchasing the second tutorial soon which talks about Blog design & usability.

I highly recommended you to click here and check it out. I have nothing to lose if you do not buy anything there but i believe it’s a loss to you if you give it a miss. It’s not that expensive and really worth the price. Anyway the site alone is worth exploring as there are probably some tutorials which you may be interested.
