Wait for Your Breakthrough – You will get it someday

Breakthrough

What is a breakthrough? It can be interpret as an act of overcoming or penetrating an obstacle or restriction. It can also represent a major achievement or success that permits further progress. A breakthrough is important to a blogger as it can surge up your web traffic or increase your subscribers in an instant.  Breakthrough can benefit you in different form:

  • Other bigger blogs recommend you and your blog
  • You feature in an influential blog
  • A high traffic blog write a post interviewing you

No matter which of the above mentioned, these are going to enhance your blog growth in long term. If you follow Pat Flynn of smartpassiveincome.com closely, you should remember he wrote a post in September mentioning how he got his first breakthrough when someone influential written a post all about him and his blog. This resulted him seeing more visitors and he haven’t looked back since.

This is really a good example of how a breakthrough can influence the growth of your blog. If you are thinking of giving up or quitting your blog, hold it for a second. Your breakthrough may just be around the corner. If you are facing stagnant growth in your blog, don’t be discouraged yet. You will get your chance soon.

What Must You Do for Your Breakthrough to Arrive

Keep writing – You need to keep on writing and produce your best content. If you stop writing, there is no way people will recommend your post and your blog. If you produce “crap” no problem. Keep your heads up, work at it and write a better post next time. The basic  foundation is to write top notch and high quality content. More writing means more practice. Ultimately you will produce a content worth mentioning.

Believe in yourself – The most important thing is to have confidence in your ability. Never ever, take criticism too seriously when people say your content or your blog “sucks”. This time it sucks but doesn’t mean it sucks every time.

Wait for your chance – Your breakthrough may come few months after you set up your blog. It may come 1-2 years. Your patience will be tested for this. The breakthrough may arrive unknown to you. You need not have to consider your blog featuring in other bigger blogs whenever you publish your post. You need to concentrate on building and providing value to your visitors.

Work hard – Treat your blog seriously if you want to succeed. If you hold a full time job, treat your blog as your part time job. You need to work as hard and develop a working attitude. Keep working hard and I believe you will reap the benefits someday.

I Have My Breakthrough Today

Today Onibalusi Bamidele from YoungPrePro puts me under the radar of his young entrepreneur blog. He is introducing this new feature “Entrepreneur Spotlight” to his visitors. Every Saturday he will be showcasing one upcoming blogger who is not well known but have a lot of value to share. I feel honor to be the first blogger to feature in his “Entrepreneur Spotlight” today.

Onibalusi is a well-known young blogger who know his stuff well. Just look at his ultimate traffic formula and his guest post guide, this are of the highest quality. He has a high traffic blog that I know will benefit me when this post is up and live today. I would like to thank him for featuring and introducing me to his visitors. Thank you, Oni.

Sometimes it just takes one blogger and one incident to increase your blog awareness. It could be an interview, a post etc. You just need to wait for that breakthrough to happen while you focus on building your blog. I believe that will come one day for you. Here’s to your blogging success.

Just as if you have been able to read my mind.

I have been battling with this since I wanted to be featuring entrepreneurs, and now you’ve convinced me to. I have now added the category to my navigation bar.

    Great article, Lye

I am glad you mentioned, believing in yourself. This is the key because if you don’t believe in yourself you can’t make the change happen.

Oni is an awesome guy and I believe you are really privileged to be under his radar.

Congrats Lye, you deserve it! Oni runs a wonderful blog with loads of traffic.

Your tips are on point. Believe in yourself and be persistent, as Victor Hugo once said:

“There is no army in the world that can stop an idea whose time has come.”

Once you decide to be an A-List blogger and put all of your energy behind the idea it will happen as long as you persist.

    Thanks for sharing :)

In this day and age, one of the rarest traits to find in people is patience. Many people hope to start up a blog and find instant wealth in the first month or two. Then they may get disappointed and give up. Everyone should follow your advice and be more patient about waiting for their big break.

I think believing in yourself is one of the most important ones here.

In order to get my Breakthrough I set goals that I could achieve then rewarding myself when I hit those goals. Patience is also a good key to blogging, nothing comes at the click of a finger, we must work hard in order to see progress.

    Nice post! ;)
